Columns
Updated over a week ago

Columns are a flexible and powerful tool for laying out text and images. To use, place the cursor where you’d like to insert a column set, go to the “Add...” menu (in the top menu bar) and choose Columns. You can also first select some content and then add columns: this will place the selected content inside the first column of the set.

Column sets are based on a 12-unit grid: The width of the page is divided up into 12 equal units, which are then distributed or combined inside the columns inside the column set. Gutters are placed between each column unit to allow for additional layout control.

For example: in a column set with three equally-sized columns, each column will be four units wide.

To edit the settings of a column set, hover over the set and click on the “Columns” button. From here, you can modify the number of columns or the width of the gutter between each column. The “-” and “+” buttons next to the “Columns” button can be used to quickly add or remove columns without opening the settings window.

Once you have the desired number of columns, you can modify the width of each column directly inside the editor: hover over the gutter that separates the two columns you’d like to change, then click and drag the dashed line to change the width of the columns.

To reset the column widths to be uniformly wide, click the “Reset” link in the column settings.

Mobile

By default, all sets of columns will collapse to a single vertical column when displayed in a mobile format. If you’d like to preserve the desktop formatting on mobile devices, activate Mobile Preview (click the phone icon in the top menu bar), then open the Column settings window by clicking the blue “Columns” button and deselect “Stack Columns Vertically”.
